for a Harvest Festival at St Mary's, Little Hallingbury. This was the first service taken by our new Priest-in-Charge, Revd Sophie Weller, Revd Sophie was given a warm and enthusiastic welcome, and was greeted on arrival in the village car park by a real work of Harvest Art in her honour, formed of straw bales and greenery: WELCOME SOPHIE! |

What is the Six Villages?
We are a group of six Anglican churches in rural villages on the Herts/Essex borders, just south of the market town of Bishop's Stortford. Sharing life and a love of Jesus across rural Essex. Together, we are part of the Deanery of Harlow, and the Church of England Diocese of Chelmsford. We are very proud to be able to worship in our six beautiful and historic church buildings, and we look forward to welcoming you to share in one of our regular services or social events. Since 2017, we have been working together in partnership as a formal Mission and Ministry Unit - building on a collaborative and supportive covenant of our six churches which was formed in 2014. Our clergy and lay ministers are licensed to serve in each of the six parishes. We are currently in the process of forming the six parishes into a single benefice, and we expect to put in place a joint church council to oversee our development as a group of six. Working, living and worshipping together in this way puts us in a stronger position to serve the needs of our church families and local communities across all of the villages. |
